From the city of Volos, the most popular destination to head to is the magnificent Pelion peninsula. This part of Greece is definately one of the most beautiful and natural, and offers visitors the perfect setting in which to enjoy holidays of all types, anytime of the year.
During the summer season, you can head to the stunning beaches found all around the coast of the Pagasitic Gulf and the Aegean sea. There are some truly spectacular beaches in Pelion.
In the winter season, the famous ski centre of Agriolefkes is in full operation, and here you can enjoy ski and other winter sports at the first rate facilities. The ski centre also provides some magnificent views stretching all over the Pelion peninsula, with the Aegean sea on the east and the waters of the Pagasitic Gulf to the south.
From Volos, visitors can also head outwards towards some of the other popular towns and cities in Greece such as Lamia and Larissa to the west, and towards the Macedonia region of Greece in the north.
