15th Athens International Film Festival

Starting on the 16th of September, and running for 11 days through to the 27th September, the Athens Film Society has organised the 15th Athens International Film Festival.
Bringing the best of International Cinema to the heart of Athens, the festival provides Athenians with an excellent selection of movies from around the world.
Some of the highlights of the festical this year include two openings for Greek cinema, a unique collection of cult movies, and specials in honour of two very important and respected pioneers of film - Polish filmmaker Zbigniew Rybczynski and Jørgen Leth - the famous Danish director.
Now in it's 15th year since it first began in 1995, the Athens Film Festival has always been a popular event, and one that has grown with status over the years.
The movie theatres that will accommodate the festival this year are the Danaos 1 & 2 theatres, the Attikon Cinemax Class and the Apollo Cinemax Class.
