Travel to Kos
The beautiful Greek island Kos is accessible by air and sea. The airport of Kos caters for domestic flights from Athens - the journey time of which is usually 45 minutes or so. During the summer months, there are also European Charter flights that arrive in Kos.
The Kos Airport ( JMK ) is located just 4km from the town of Kos. There are bus and taxi services to and from the airport. The months of July and August are the busiest of the year, and it is recommended to book your air tickets well in advance.
The port of Kos is usually the main entry point to the island. With daily connections with the port of Piraeus in Athens and the port of Rafina on the east side of Attica. The port of Piraeus is easily accessible from all over Athens, and has frequent bus routes, as well as the Metro station. To reach the port of Rafine, you can use the local bus services or arrange a taxi or transfer to the port.
The island of Kos is also connected by sea to a number of other Greek islands in the Dodecanese, and also from Crete and islands that belong to the group called the Dodecanese.
