Folegandros Island - Cyclades Greece
Folegandros is a veautiful island located in the centre of the Cyclades, and is one that attracts a huge number of visitors each year. It is a very picturesque island, and the charming windmills combined with the Cycladic style houses and blue of the Aegean Sea provide it with a truly magnificent landscape.
The port of Folegandros is Karavostasi, which is also a very popular tourist resort on the island.
The capital of Folegandros is the town of Chora ( Hora ), which is situated approximately 3km from the port.
The town of Chora is home to the interetsing medieval castle. The lovely white houses and the natural scenery all around create a wonderful welcome for visitors arriving to Folegandros.
There are several popular villages and destinations on Folegandros that are worth visiting.
The traditional village of Ano Meria, in the northern region of Folengandros, is a very place to visit, and provides the perfect setting for relaxing and peaceful holidays, as well as being a popular part of Folegandros for trekking and exploring.
Folegandros has some wonderful beaches all around the island, including the popular beaches of Agali, Karavostasi, Latinaki and Pountaki.
There are also some other very nice beaches though these are only accessible by boat departing from the harbour.

Folegandros has boat connections with Athens via the port of Pireaus, as well as other surrounding islands in the Cyclades such as Milos and Santorini.
