Spetses Island - Saronic Gulf Greece
The island of Spetses is the most southern of the Saronic Gulf islands, and is located very close to the coast of Argolida in the Peloponnese region of Greece.
Spetses has very frequent boat and flying dolphin connections with the port of Pireaus, as well as the other Saronic Gulf islands of Aegina, Methana, Hydra and Poros, as well as with the harbours of Ermioni, Kosta and Porto Heli in Argolida.
Spetses is truly a very beautiful island, and one with immense charm and magic. It attracts visitors from all over the world, and is a favoured holiday destination for many Greeks.
The historical square of the city, the impressive neoclassical mansions and the absence of cars, gives Spetses a unique beauty.
The city of Spetses has successfully maintained it's traditional appearance and colours, and is considered a preservable settlement. Several of the traditional mansions on the island operate as museums.
The island is one with a very interesting and varied history. The harbour of the island is called "Dapia", and in the historic square, you will find the canons from the 1821 revolution. At the charming "Posidonio Square" you can see the statue of "Bouboulina".

Spetses is an island that ensures peacefulness and tranquility, mainly due to the prohibition of cars. Only two-wheeled and traditional carriages are permitted on the island.
