The Cycladic Civilization
Centered on the Cyclades islands, the Cycladic Civlisation is split up into three time periods. They are the Early Period (3000 2000 BC), the Middle Period (2000 1500 BC) and the Late Period (1500 1100 BC).
The statuettes carved from the Parian marble in around 2800 BC are probably the most impressive and important legacy of the Cycladic Civilisation.
Visit any of the Cycladic islands, and you will see the famous Cycladic statues, based on the past glory of the civilization.
These statues depict the image of the Mother Earth, as did the statues from the Neolithic times.
There were a variety of other artifacts and remains discovered such as tools and weapons made from bronze, vases and pots made from clay and stone and also gold jewellery.
Many of these remains can be seen at various museums in Greece today.
The Cycladic Civilisation also created maritme trading with Asia Minor, Europe, North Africa and Crete, where they exported there wares and became quite prosperous in doing so.
The Minoan and Mycenaean Civilisations both
had a huge influence on the Cycladic Civilisation.
